Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce President Position Description:
The Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to unifying and advancing the business and community interests. Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking an experienced professional to lead the organization with a projected start date of January 2, 2009. The ideal candidate will have proven excellent communication, leadership, team building and organizational skills to continue the chambers reputation of excellence.
Specific Responsibilities, Function, and Authority:
Responsible for coordination of program of work for all Chamber staff to include; organizational structure and procedures; fund raising; public relations; recruitment of new membership and regular visitation of current and prospective membership.
Will be directly responsible to the Board of Directors who will review/evaluate the performance of the President and approve any salary/benefit decisions.
Develop with the assistance of the Chamber Board of Directors a strategic vision plan that compliments the mission of the organization.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors in an efficient an professional manner.
Assure the Chamber has a short and long-range strategy which achieves its mission.
Maintain official records and documents and ensure compliance with governmental regulations
Publicize the activities of the Chamber, its programs, publications, brochures, and goals.
Ensure the Board if kept fully informed on the condition of the Chamber and all important factors influencing it.
Attendance at all Chamber events and activities.
Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with the business community.
Jointly, with the board of directors, conduct, develop, and maintain sound financial practices.
Assure that the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the facilities used for the Chamber purposes are met.
Professional business standards and practices.
Adhere to the bylaws of the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce.

QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree preferred.
Any combination of experience and/or education that supports the knowledge and skills required.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Fundraising and events management experience preferred.
Good human relation skills to work with volunteers, business community, business leaders, membership and staff.
Knowledge of Tarrant County and the City of Colleyville.
Broad knowledge of computer skills required.
The candidate must understand the respective roles that define the board of directors, volunteers and staff. This is a professional, salaried position, which is exempt from overtime pay requirements. It requires self-supervision, policy implementation, leadership and work beyond the context of an eight-hour day without additional compensation. The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being preformed by the President of the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce. This position may be called upon to perform other additional duties by the Board of Directors.
SALARY: The Salary/Benefits will be based on experience and other qualifications.
JOB OPENING: Office Coordinator
Duties
Administrative support to president, answer phones for Chamber, Monthly Luncheons, Board of Directors Meeting, order office supplies (business cards, letterhead, envelopes), maintain equipment including postage and credit card machines, negotiate contracts, run AR report, liaison with computer support, order soft drink supply, set kitchen schedule, maintain commissions payout worksheet, keep vacation schedule, maintain petty cash, post payments and make bank deposits as necessary, make cash receipts, buy office supplies, maintain calendar of events/meetings in office, main person to answer phones for Chamber within three rings others will help as needed.
Monthly Luncheon
Create calling list in Excel for volunteers
Input all names in Remember
Get caterers for each month and reserve appropriate number
Work with Church on table set up
Create attendee list in Excel for Volunteer Coordinator with 3 copies each of business name alpha and last name alpha
Do agenda, head table, handouts
Post all attendees
Create Invoices, fax and mail as needed
Post all payments
Make name tags, tent cards
Prepare Speaker Intro
Create and send B/C emails on Speaker along with Public Relations Coordinator
Make sure supplies are up-to-date in box
Set up display tables at Monthly Luncheons
Prepare handouts for tables at luncheon
Help distribute material at luncheon
Board of Directors Meeting Executive Board and Board
Get caterer for event and order appropriate number
Work with caterer on set up and bring check to pay
Create agendas for both boards
Create folders for all board members
Copy of Financials and other handouts in folders
Clean up lunch and bring back to office
Maintain Board addresses, personal data, etc.
Give updates to Board on luncheons
Supplies
Order supplies for office on as needed basis
Send out bids/order business cards
Send out bids/order envelopes, stationary
Place monthly Coca-Cola order
Buy office supplies (i.e. toilet paper, paper towel, snacks, etc.)
Office Duties
Maintain office equipment
Liaison for all computer issues with computer rep
Maintain postage machine and add postage as needed
Maintain credit card machines and negotiate contracts as needed
Order paper for credit card machines
